Gerindra West Java dismisses rumors of Governor Dedi Mulyadi joining PSI

The West Java branch of the Gerindra Party has responded to circulating rumors suggesting that West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi might leave the party to join the PSI (Indonesian Solidarity Party).

Buky Wibawa Karya Guna, Vice Chairman of Gerindra West Java, stated he was unaware of the basis for these rumors. He emphasized that Dedi Mulyadi, often referred to as Demul or KDM, has unequivocally declared his support for Prabowo Subianto to lead Indonesia. Buky affirmed that Mulyadi remains a committed member and serves on the central board of Gerindra.

Buky expressed his surprise at the speculation, noting that he has met Mulyadi multiple times and has seen no indication of him planning to leave Gerindra. He dismissed suggestions that Mulyadi's extensive travels, including recent visits to affected areas after a major earthquake, were attempts to gain sympathy or prepare for a party switch. Buky described Mulyadi as someone who is genuinely moved by issues and actively seeks to resolve them, characterizing his travels as practical problem-solving rather than political maneuvering.

He further clarified that Mulyadi's engagement in assisting various regions, similar to aid provided by other governors, stems purely from humanitarian concerns. Buky highlighted Mulyadi's hands-on approach, stating he is not a "desk leader" but someone who prefers to be actively involved in addressing challenges. The party official reiterated that there is no sign of Mulyadi intending to leave Gerindra, finding the widespread discussion about it peculiar.
