German Federal Minister and Indonesian Vice Health Minister Support Bayer's Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Synergy

German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Reem Alabali Radovan, visited PT Bayer Indonesia's healthcare manufacturing facility in Cimanggis, Depok. She was joined by Indonesian Vice Minister of Health, Dante Saksono Harbuwono, and German Ambassador to Indonesia, Ralf Beste, as part of a German delegation's agenda to bolster strategic partnerships.

The visit underscored Bayer's role in fostering Indonesia-Germany synergy, supporting national priorities such as decarbonization and strengthening the health sector. The Cimanggis plant, a key global manufacturing site for Bayer, serves both domestic needs and exports to more than 42 countries.

Minister Radovan highlighted the shared commitment between Germany and Indonesia to sustainable and inclusive development. She noted that Bayer's investments in innovation and sustainable practices benefit various sectors, from renewable energy and local industry to maternal and child health manufacturing. "Through development policy, we are building bridges between partner countries, aiming to pioneer new partnerships together by systematically involving German companies," she stated.

Vice Minister Harbuwono expressed confidence in Bayer's long-term partnership with Indonesia, emphasizing its contribution to national health goals. He mentioned the Ministry of Health's target to reach 4.9 million pregnant women annually, requiring a consistent supply of quality maternal health products. The delegation also toured the facility's 1.66-hectare rooftop solar panel installation, one of the largest among multinational pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia, which supplies approximately 43% of the facility's energy needs.
