German Foreign Minister to Visit Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil This Week

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul is set to embark on a multi-country tour this week, with stops planned in Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. The visit aims to strengthen ties with regional partners and address key international issues.

In Paraguay, Wadephul is scheduled to participate in the Mercosur Summit, a significant regional economic bloc. The summit, taking place at the Conmebol Convention Center in Luque, will provide a platform for discussions on trade and cooperation. He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña and Chilean President José Antonio Kast.

The German minister's itinerary also includes a visit to the United States, where he will meet with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Their discussions are anticipated to cover the ongoing situation in the Middle East, continued support for Ukraine, and preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara. A business delegation will accompany Wadephul, highlighting the economic dimension of his diplomatic efforts, particularly in light of the provisional entry into force of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement.
