German Interior Minister: Germany faces daily hybrid warfare attacks

Germany is under constant threat from hybrid warfare tactics originating from foreign states, stated Interior Minister Alexander Dobrint. He described these attacks as a daily reality, aimed at politically and socially subjugating Germany through the spread of fear.

Dobrint elaborated that these hostile actions include espionage, sabotage, cyber-attacks, and covert operations designed to destabilize the country or inflict direct damage. "We are not at war, but we are a daily target of hybrid warfare," Dobrint told the newspaper 'Bild', as reported by Reuters.

This warning comes after an explosive-laden drone was discovered at Leipzig-Halle Airport. While some German lawmakers pointed fingers at Russia, the Russian embassy in Berlin dismissed the accusations as a "fabricated provocation." The German government is reportedly planning to bolster its drone defense capabilities to counter such threats.

'Bild' further reported that the Interior Ministry intends to double the number of German drone counter-experts. The German army also confirmed observing two drones over a military base in Mechernich on Thursday. The minister's statement underscores a heightened security concern within Germany regarding external interference and destabilization efforts.
