German Interior Minister Invites Foreign Colleagues After Drone Incident

Following a recent drone incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt is convening a meeting of his foreign counterparts. The meeting is slated for late August at the Mürwik Naval School in Flensburg. Invitations have been extended to ministers from Eastern European European Union member states and countries bordering the Baltic Sea. This group includes representatives from the Baltic states, Poland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, highlighting a collaborative approach to a shared security concern.

The core objective of these consultations is to develop and coordinate a unified defense strategy specifically targeting unmanned aerial systems.
