German media: Traces from Leipzig drone attack lead to Lithuania

German media outlets are reporting that a recent drone incident at Leipzig Airport may have connections to Lithuania. The investigation into the events, where a drone carrying explosives was discovered near a Ukrainian transport plane and another drone collided with a descending aircraft, has reportedly uncovered DNA traces registered in Lithuania. These traces are allegedly linked to a previous incident in Leipzig in July 2024, involving a fire at a DHL logistics center that originated from a shipment from Vilnius. German investigators, who have taken over the case, reportedly found DNA evidence that points towards Lithuania. While details about the ownership of the DNA data and its specific connection to individuals in Lithuania remain undisclosed, reports suggest that the recent attack at Leipzig Airport was also a near-tragedy, with the drone hitting an aircraft wing but its detonator failing to explode the main 800g explosive.
