German national arrested at Casablanca airport on international warrant

Moroccan police apprehended a 35-year-old German national of Kosovar origin at Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport on Saturday. The man was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by German judicial authorities, who suspect him of involvement in drug trafficking and intentional arson.

The suspect was detained immediately upon arrival on a flight. An Interpol database check revealed he was internationally wanted at the request of the German Federal Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden. Authorities suspect the individual was involved in the international smuggling of hashish and intentionally setting fire to a car as part of a criminal dispute settlement.

The suspect has been placed under extradition procedures in accordance with the public prosecutor's instructions. The Moroccan Interpol office, affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, has notified its German counterpart to complete the extradition process.

This arrest underscores the ongoing international security cooperation aimed at tracking down individuals wanted for cross-border criminal offenses.
