German Politician Proposes Sex Party in City Hall, Cites Lack of Legal Prohibition

A controversial proposal by German politician Julien Ferrat to host a sex party inside Mannheim City Hall has ignited debate. Ferrat, a local councilor, argues that local laws do not explicitly forbid such an event and suggests it could serve as an unconventional method for connecting elected officials with citizens.

Ferrat, who has been dubbed "the craziest councilor" by German media, presented his plan during local discussions. The 35-year-old believes the City Hall, due to its central location, is an appropriate venue. He asserts that organizing parties within the administration building is not explicitly prohibited by local legislation. "Group sex with local council members would be the pinnacle of bringing citizens closer," he stated, justifying his initiative.

So far, around 50 individuals have indicated interest in attending. Ferrat mentioned that some potential attendees are part of the swinging community, while others are less known to him. He plans to meet personally with those he doesn't know to verify their genuine interest. For newcomers, he is even considering organizing preparatory sessions before the event.

However, the local administration has not approved the initiative, expressing "considerable doubts" about its legality and practicality. City officials noted that Ferrat has not yet submitted a sufficiently detailed official proposal, lacking essential information such as the event date, venue, and a concrete link between the party and his role as a local councilor. Ferrat's ambitions extend beyond a single party; he aims to promote Mannheim as a destination for nudists and swingers, drawing inspiration from the French resort town of Cap d'Agde, believing this could generate significant revenue for the city.
