Germany has issued a strong condemnation of Russia's large-scale air assaults targeting Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions, labeling them as evidence of President Vladimir Putin's "unaltered brutality" and a clear sign he is not interested in negotiating a ceasefire or peace agreement. The German Foreign Ministry stated that the "appalling images" of destruction from the recent attacks underscore Russia's continued aggression against Ukraine, which violates international law.

According to the ministry, Putin is relying on "terror with missiles and drones against the civilian population" while Russia itself suffers substantial losses on the front lines. This assessment highlights Germany's view that Russia's actions are not only brutal but also strategically counterproductive for Moscow.

In response, Germany is committed to increasing pressure on Russia in coordination with its allies. A key focus will be the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara, where Germany intends to push for a new package of financial and military assistance for Ukraine. A draft proposal suggests this aid could amount to approximately 70 billion euros, with similar levels expected in 2027.
