Karl's absence is a major loss for Germany. The young player had a standout season for Bayern Munich, recording 9 goals and 7 assists in 39 appearances. His impressive form earned him a place in Julian Nagelsmann's squad for the group stage, where Germany is set to face Curazao, Costa Rica, and Ecuador.
