Germany secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast in a thrilling World Cup 2026 encounter at BMO Field in Toronto. The win propelled Julian Nagelsmann's squad to the top of Group J, accumulating six points from their initial two matches.

Despite controlling 59 percent of the ball and unleashing 16 shots, Germany initially struggled to break down Ivory Coast's defense. Their early efforts, including a header from Kai Havertz and a disallowed goal by Aleksandar Pavlovic, were thwarted.
