Germany: Warm weather persists, but thunderstorms and heavy rain possible

Residents of North Rhine-Westphalia should prepare for a period of unsettled weather, although temperatures are expected to remain warm. The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts a mix of sunshine and clouds to start Tuesday, but the afternoon could bring isolated showers or thunderstorms.

These potential storms carry a risk of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and even hail, particularly during the evening hours. Temperatures could reach up to 29 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Overnight, the temperature will drop to between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius, or as low as 11 degrees in higher elevations.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, the forecast suggests scattered showers and brief thunderstorms are possible, mainly in the northern parts of the state. Elsewhere, conditions are expected to be mostly dry with highs ranging from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius. Fog may also form in some areas overnight, reducing visibility to less than 150 meters. By Thursday, the weather is predicted to become more varied with increasing cloud cover, and rain is expected to move in from the northwest, with temperatures reaching between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.
