GIIAS Surabaya 2026 sets attendance record with 45,763 visitors

GIIAS Surabaya 2026 drew 45,763 visitors over five days, setting a record for the automotive exhibition in the East Java capital.

The event ran from Aug. 26 to 30 at Grand City Convex and attracted more than 40% more visitors than the previous edition. It covered 15,000 square meters and brought together 37 vehicle brands, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and motorcycles. Another 25 brands from the supporting automotive industry also participated.

Fourteen brands either joined the GAIKINDO show for the first time or returned after an absence. Organizers said the expanded participation reflected interest in the East Java automotive market. The exhibition was officially opened by Indonesian Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza, alongside East Java officials and GAIKINDO leaders.

GAIKINDO chairman Putu Juli Ardika thanked the central government, the East Java provincial government and local visitors for supporting the event. He said the exhibition’s achievements could contribute to strengthening Indonesia’s national automotive industry.
