Giorgos Papavasilis Returns to Olympiacos Handball Team

Greek handball player Giorgos Papavasilis is returning to Olympiacos, the club where he previously played for four seasons. The 26-year-old left winger spent the last year with PAOK but will once again wear the red and white of Olympiacos.

Papavasilis's previous tenure with Olympiacos from 2021 to 2025 was highly successful. During that period, he helped the team secure three Greek championships, one Greek Cup, and three Super Cups. He also received significant individual recognition, being named MVP of the Handball Premier league and its finals in the 2021-22 season. Furthermore, he was voted the best left winger in the league for three consecutive seasons (2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24).

As a key member of the Greek national team, Papavasilis brings valuable experience back to Olympiacos. He stated his excitement about rejoining the club, emphasizing his familiarity with the team and the significant moments he experienced there. His primary goal is to contribute to the team's pursuit of both domestic titles and European success.
