Giovani Gutiérrez calls for closer access to notarial services in Coyoacán to protect family assets

Coyoacán Mayor Giovani Gutiérrez said legal certainty is essential to protecting families’ assets, providing peace of mind and preventing conflicts.

Speaking at the forum “Notarial Practice in Mexico: Challenges and Opportunities” at the Chamber of Deputies, Gutiérrez stressed the importance of bringing notarial services closer to residents. He said professional, impartial and independent notaries help people make decisions about their property with greater security.

The mayor said Coyoacán has carried out Notarial Days and regularization programs since the beginning of his administration. These initiatives offer residents guidance and notarial services at accessible or preferential prices, particularly for procedures involving the protection of their assets.

With the legal certainty a notary gives us, we can have what is called peace and tranquility in every sense.

Gutiérrez also urged residents to seek advice before completing a legal act. He said early guidance helps people understand their options, make better decisions and prevent family or legal disputes. He added that coordination is important for achieving better results.

Coyoacán has held its Notarial Days since 2022. The district now has six notary offices where residents can request advice. Gutiérrez thanked federal lawmaker Israel Betanzos for making the meeting possible.
