Girl, 13, stabs father to save mother from knife attack in Romania

A 13-year-old girl in Romania's Timiș County intervened in a violent domestic dispute, stabbing her father to protect her mother from his knife attack. The mother, 41, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital by a SMURD helicopter.

The incident occurred after a conflict erupted between the couple. The 40-year-old father reportedly grabbed a knife and attacked his wife. The daughter, witnessing the assault, first called emergency services. She then took a knife and stabbed her father in an attempt to stop the attack and defend her mother.

Emergency medical teams and police responded to the scene. The mother received medical attention, but her condition remains grave. Adding a layer of tragedy to the event, it was revealed that the father was already subject to a restraining order, valid for 11 months. He was prohibited from approaching within 150 meters of his wife. The couple was reportedly in the process of divorcing, and police had conducted a check on the morning of the attack to ensure the restraining order was being followed.
