Glo Marks 23rd Anniversary with Thrilling Fitfest 2026 Sports Day

Globacom’s staff traded corporate suits for colorful jerseys as the telecommunications company marked its 23rd anniversary with a full day of sport and celebration in Lagos.

Held at The Stable in Surulere, Glo Fitfest 2026 brought employees from across the company together in clusters designed to strengthen team unity. Participants competed in table tennis, giant Ludo, snooker, beer pong, sack races and Ayo, the traditional board game.

The football tournament became the day’s main attraction. Several departments brought in leading players from regional offices outside Lagos, adding a strategic edge to the internal competition. The Glo Rocket team, made up of staff from Sales and Value Added Services, eventually claimed the trophy after defeating Strikers FC, a combined team from Rollout, Information Systems, Gloworld Development and E-Pin.

Glo Rocket received the championship trophy and a cash prize of N1 million. Strikers FC took N750,000 as runners-up. Players from both teams collected medals, while winners in the indoor and track events also received medals and cash prizes.

The celebration continued with music, dancing and laughter. The company described the event as a cultural milestone that renewed the energy of the workforce that has driven Globacom for more than two decades.
