Global sports community rallies in solidarity with flood-stricken Nepal

The global sports community has united in expressing solidarity with Nepal following the devastating floods that ravaged the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, causing immense loss of life and property across several districts.

Leading European football clubs, including La Liga champions FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, have shared messages of sympathy on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. FC Barcelona paid tribute to rescue and relief efforts and observed a moment of silence before their match against Athletic Club. Atlético Madrid conveyed deep sorrow for affected families, sending a message of strength to Nepal.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have also demonstrated significant concern. Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have all posted messages of sympathy, support, and solidarity with Nepal's flood-affected citizens. Kolkata Knight Riders specifically saluted the security personnel involved in the rescue operations.

Beyond football and cricket, numerous athletes and international sporting organizations have extended their prayers and support to Nepal.
