GNFS deploys new fire tender to Jubilee House Station to boost emergency response

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has bolstered its emergency response capacity in the Greater Accra Region by deploying a new fire appliance to the Jubilee House Fire Station. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

DCFO Timothy Osafo Affum, Director of Technical Services, officially transferred the new appliance to ACFO II Rashid Kwame Nisawu, the Greater Accra Regional Fire Officer. This strategic deployment is designed to significantly improve the efficiency of firefighting operations and expedite response times to fire and rescue incidents within the station's operational area, which covers parts of central Accra and surrounding communities.

ACFO II Nisawu expressed his gratitude for the support from the Fire Service Administration. He assured that the command would ensure the new appliance is utilized effectively and maintained properly to safeguard lives and property. "This addition will go a long way to enhance our capacity to respond swiftly whenever we are called upon," Nisawu stated, highlighting the appliance's role in strengthening their response capabilities.

The GNFS indicated that this deployment is part of a broader, ongoing initiative to retool and equip fire stations nationwide. The goal is to ensure all stations are adequately prepared to meet the challenges of modern emergency situations.
