GNFS Western Command engages some corporate stakeholders on fire prevention

The Western Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is actively fostering stronger ties with major corporate and industrial entities across the region. Regional Commander ACFO I Cecil Addo recently completed a familiarization tour, visiting prominent organizations such as the Bank of Ghana, GOIL PLC, Western Terminals, and the Volta River Authority. The primary goal of these engagements was to bolster partnerships and elevate fire safety preparedness within these institutions. During the visits, Commander Addo urged management to prioritize proactive fire prevention by integrating stringent safety protocols into their daily operations. Discussions also centered on improving overall fire readiness and enhancing collaborative efforts between the GNFS and the corporate sector. As a tangible show of support, the GNFS distributed essential firefighting equipment, including Carbon Dioxide and Dry Chemical Powder extinguishers, along with Fire Extinguishing Balls, to aid in workplace safety. In response, the visited institutions expressed their appreciation for the initiative and committed to supporting regular safety audits, participating in joint emergency drills, and exploring potential Corporate Social Responsibility partnerships with the Fire Service.
