Sumire Nakamura, a Japanese-born Go player, has achieved a career-high ranking of third in the Korean women's professional Go rankings following her move to South Korea. This marks a significant milestone since she began competing in Korea.

In July, Nakamura secured 10 wins against 3 losses, accumulating 51 ranking points. Her total score now stands at 9317 points, placing her 62nd overall in the Korean rankings and third among female players. Nakamura began her Korean ranking journey in April 2024 at 217th place, and in just over two years, she has ascended 155 spots to reach her current peak position.

Choi Jeong 9 dan continues to hold the top spot in the women's rankings for the second consecutive month with 9530 points. Kim Eun-ji 9 dan follows closely in second place with 9525 points, with Nakamura now in third. In the overall rankings, Shin Jinseo 9 dan remains the dominant force, securing the number one position for the 80th month in a row with 10402 points. Other top male players, including Park Jung-hwan 9 dan, Shin Min-jun 9 dan, and Byun Sang-il 9 dan, maintained their positions in the top rankings.
