Nogometaši Osijeka secured a commanding 6-1 victory over newly promoted Rudeš on Saturday, marking their second win in as many matches in the new SuperSport HNL season. The dominant performance places Osijek at the top of the league standings after the second round.

Osijek established their dominance early in the match. New forward Armand Leon opened the scoring in the 11th minute, netting his first goal for the club. He doubled the lead just 17 minutes later. The first half onslaught continued with Nail Omerović adding two goals in the final five minutes, sending Osijek into halftime with a comfortable 4-0 advantage.

The second half saw Osijek continue their scoring spree. Arnel Jakupović, who replaced Leon, extended the lead to 5-0 shortly after entering the game. Omerović then completed his hat-trick in the 81st minute, making the score 6-0. Rudeš managed to score a consolation goal in the 84th minute through Lenny Ilečić, setting the final score at 6-1.

This victory follows Osijek's 2-0 win against Gorica in the first round, also played at the same stadium. The team's strong start to the season, highlighted by this high-scoring performance, signals a promising campaign ahead.
