Golf: Yu Chun-an's third-round eagle propels him to 7th at Wyndham Championship

Taiwanese golfer Yu Chun-an is in contention at the Wyndham Championship, currently sitting in seventh place after a strong third round. The 27-year-old carded a 65, bringing his total score to 198, just four strokes behind co-leaders Michael Brennan and Beau Hossler. This performance positions him well to challenge for his second PGA Tour victory.

Yu, who secured his maiden PGA Tour win at the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship, has experienced an up-and-down season. His best previous finish this year was tied for seventh at the Texas Open in April. Last week, he tied for 31st at the PGA Tour's Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Competing in North Carolina, Yu's third round was highlighted by five birdies and a crucial eagle on the fifth hole. Despite two bogeys, his overall score of 12-under par puts him in a promising position for the final round. Another notable Taiwanese player, Pan Cheng-tsung, was also in the field but did not make the cut.

Yu is looking to carry his momentum into the final round, aiming to improve on his season-best performance and potentially secure his second career PGA Tour title.
