Gombe State University installs 24-hour CCTV surveillance to boost campus security

Gombe State University (GSU) has significantly bolstered its campus security with the deployment of a state-of-the-art, 24-hour Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance system. This initiative aims to strengthen security measures and protect lives and property within the institution.

The university said the solar-powered, campus-wide surveillance network provides 24-hour monitoring of pedestrian, vehicular and bicycle movements across the institution.

The newly installed, solar-powered network provides continuous monitoring of all movements across the main campus, including pedestrians, vehicles, and bicycles. The system is integrated with the University’s Central Security Control Room and supported by an upgraded walkie-talkie communication network, ensuring rapid responses to any security incidents.

Retired Lieutenant Commander Jafaru Kamara, the Chief Security Officer, described the project as a major advancement in the university's security infrastructure.
