Google Cloud Launches Security Operations Platform in Seoul Region

Google Cloud has officially launched its Security Operations Platform within its Seoul region, marking a significant step in bolstering cybersecurity for South Korean businesses. The platform, now operational in Google's data centers leased and managed in Seoul, integrates Google's extensive cloud infrastructure with its generative AI model, 'Gemini.' This powerful combination enables the real-time detection of and automated response to cyberattacks, including hacking attempts.

The key advantage of the Seoul region launch is that all security logs and analytical data will now be stored and processed domestically. This addresses a critical concern for South Korean financial institutions and public organizations, allowing them to leverage advanced security services from Google Cloud without the worry of sensitive data being transferred or stored internationally. Jagdish Mahapatra, Google Cloud's Head of Security for Japan and Asia-Pacific, expressed optimism about the platform's impact.
