Gorontalo Police: Vehicle Tax Debt Waiver Helps Update Vehicle Data

The Gorontalo Regional Police's Traffic Directorate believes the program to waive vehicle tax debts is highly effective in updating vehicle data within the region. The initiative, scheduled from August 10 to August 31, 2026, is expected to enhance administrative accuracy and boost regional revenue.

Director of Traffic at Gorontalo Police, Kombes Pol. Lukman Cahyono, stated that the policy encourages the public to promptly complete vehicle registration and identification. He highlighted that this directly supports the police's efforts to maintain an up-to-date database of motorized vehicles in Gorontalo Province.

Cahyono explained that the program offers a total waiver of principal debts and penalties for taxpayers with previous arrears. Individuals are only required to pay the current year's tax, providing significant financial relief. He stressed the critical importance of accurate data for legal certainty, ensuring the validation and legitimacy of vehicle ownership, roadworthiness, and legality, which can only be guaranteed with continuously updated police records.
