Governance Development Encourages Art Studios' Independence

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has initiated the Sanggar Bakti BCA program, a comprehensive effort designed to bolster the organizational management and operational sustainability of art studios. This initiative addresses key challenges faced by these creative communities, including funding limitations, weak organizational structures, and insufficient access to mentorship and networks.

The program focuses on strengthening governance, improving performance management, documenting artistic works, and developing human resources within the selected studios. Hera F. Haryn, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, stated that the program aims to equip participating studios with the tools to develop their potential, expand opportunities, and ensure long-term viability. After an initial assessment phase to identify potential art communities, ten studios were evaluated. Five studios were then chosen to present their programs to a panel of art practitioners and academics. Citra Art Studio was among the first selected. BCA is collaborating with Titimangsa, an organization founded by Happy Salma, to implement the program. Salma expressed her hope that the collaboration would enhance the management capacity of art communities and foster greater knowledge exchange among artists.
