Government extends ED Director Rahul Navin's tenure by one year

The Indian government has granted a one-year extension to Rahul Navin, the current Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). This decision, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, will see Navin continue in his role until August 13, 2027. His extended tenure will go beyond his originally scheduled retirement date of July 31, 2027.

Navin, who belongs to the 1993 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), has been leading the ED. The extension signals a continuation of the current leadership at the agency, which is responsible for enforcing economic laws and investigating financial crimes in India.

The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions issued the order for the extension. This move comes as the ED continues its work on various high-profile cases, and the extension ensures continuity in its operations and strategic direction.
