Grønbæk forces red card in loss to Dortmund

Danish midfielder Albert Grønbæk showcased his abilities for Hamburger SV, even as the team succumbed to a 0-2 defeat against Borussia Dortmund in their Bundesliga opener.

Dortmund secured their victory with two first-half goals. Serhou Guirassy opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a low, hard shot from a tight angle. In first-half stoppage time, Giannis Konstantelias's shot was deflected into the net by HSV's Sebastiaan Bornauw for an own goal, doubling Dortmund's lead.

Despite the scoreline, HSV fought back in the second half. Grønbæk came close to reducing the deficit shortly after the break, but his shot was saved by Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. Later, in the 77th minute, Dortmund's substitute Samuele Inacio received a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Grønbæk, just three minutes after coming onto the field.

Grønbæk continued to be HSV's primary creative force, generating dangerous situations with his playmaking. However, he lacked the final sharpness to convert his chances. Yussuf Poulsen was introduced late in the game as HSV sought an equalizer, but Dortmund's ten men held firm to secure the win.
