Graffiti in central Belgrade claims genocide in the Balkans was committed against Serbs

A white wall at the entrance to Knez Mihailova, Belgrade’s central pedestrian street, now carries a black English-language slogan declaring: “The Only Genocide in the Balkans was Against the Serbs.”

The graffiti appeared on the entrance to a commercial building in the heart of the Serbian capital. The same message had been painted on the wall several months earlier.

This time, however, the inscription includes the signature of the right-wing organization People’s Patrol, or Narodna Patrola. It also bears the initials “RTK HRJ,” meaning “Ratko Mladić Hero.”
