Donald Trump has directed extensive renovations at the White House, focusing on both aesthetic upgrades and functional improvements. The former asphalt driveway has been replaced with white granite, a material Trump described as "very special stone," contrasting it with the "very basic" asphalt previously used.

Trump took a hands-on approach to the construction, reportedly showing interest in the granite's cutting and placement, as well as infrastructure and leveling. He also addressed issues with the helicopter landing pad, which was redesigned due to concerns about its slope. "I felt it was too much slope. It's a slope for rain, but I felt it was too much," Trump stated, explaining the need for adjustments that caused a slight delay.

The presidential seal, carved in granite, will be a feature of the new landing pad. The White House facade also received attention, with Trump noting the removal of old paint and renewal of the exterior. The most substantial project underway is a new ballroom, approximately 8,400 square meters.
