Grassland fire near River vs Aldosivi stadium in Salta causes concern over large smoke plume

A bizarre scene unfolded near Salta's Padre Ernesto Martearena stadium on Friday night as a fierce grassland fire erupted during a Copa Argentina match between River Plate and Aldosivi. The situation intensified as Aldosivi led 2-0, with a significant column of smoke becoming visible from the stands behind one of the goals.

The flames spread through the surrounding vegetation, with videos shared on social media by spectators and local media capturing the dramatic event. The fire was observed at close range to the stadium where the match was taking place.

Fortunately, the wind carried the smoke away from the playing field, ensuring visibility remained clear and the players could continue the game without interruption. Despite the concern among attendees, the match proceeded normally. Civil Defense precautions indicated the fire posed no immediate risk to those inside the stadium.
