Greece Braces for Heatwave: Sunny Skies and Up to 37°C Expected

Greece is set for a predominantly sunny and warm weather spell, with temperatures expected to climb significantly in several regions. The forecast indicates clear skies across the country, though some brief cloud cover may appear during the afternoon hours over northern continental areas and the mountains of Crete.

Temperatures are predicted to rise slightly, reaching highs of 33-35°C in the Ionian Islands and eastern island regions. Continental areas will experience warmer conditions, with temperatures around 35-36°C, and potentially peaking at 37°C in western parts of the country. Coastal areas like the Cyclades and Crete will see slightly cooler temperatures, around 30-32°C.

Wind conditions will generally be from the north, ranging from 3 to 5 Beaufort. However, stronger gusts of 6 to 7 Beaufort are expected in the Aegean Sea, particularly in the mornings. Despite the overall sunny outlook, localized afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible in some northern continental areas and mountainous regions of western Greece and the Peloponnese.
