Greece braces for heavy rain and thunderstorms on Saturday

Greece is set to experience significant rainfall and thunderstorms across various regions on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The National Meteorological Service has issued warnings, indicating that the weather phenomena could be locally intense.

Areas like Halkidiki and eastern Macedonia are expected to face strong weather events in the early morning hours. Sporades and Evia will experience heavy rain and thunderstorms until midday. There is also a possibility of similar phenomena in Thrace and the northeastern Aegean islands, especially Lemnos.

While the eastern mainland, Evia, Sporades, and the northern Aegean islands anticipate rain and thunderstorms, other parts of the country are expected to have milder weather with some cloud cover. Winds will generally be from the north, reaching up to 7 Beaufort in the seas. Temperatures will see a slight decrease in the east, ranging from 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, while reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius in the west and south.
