Greece downs North Macedonia 3-0 for third straight European League win

The Greek men's national volleyball team continued its impressive run in the European League with a decisive 3-0 win over North Macedonia. This victory keeps Greece on track for qualification to the tournament's final stage.

The team showcased a well-rounded performance before a passionate home crowd at the Glyfada indoor arena. Greece established control early, dominating the first set with effective blocking and precise attacking to secure a 25-19 win. The second set saw a more balanced play, with North Macedonia briefly taking the lead. However, Greece rallied, finding solutions in their serves and capitalizing on critical points to win 25-20, demonstrating composure under pressure.

The third set was the most competitive, featuring lead changes and decided by fine margins. The Greek players maintained focus, took control in the final moments, and clinched the set 25-23, completing the 3-0 sweep. Alexandros Raptis was the top scorer with 13 points, highlighting a balanced team effort that displayed consistency and growing confidence as the tournament progresses.

With this win, Greece accumulated 10 points, concluding the Athens leg of the tournament with a perfect record after also defeating Iceland. The team now shifts its focus to the next tournament in Luxembourg from June 19-21, where they will face the host nation and Austria in a pivotal three-day event for their European League campaign.
