Meanwhile, in Thessaloniki, Mayor Stelios Angeloudis is scheduled to meet with the prime minister to discuss the long-stalled redevelopment of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). This project, which has faced numerous obstacles, remains a central topic on the agenda.

The political landscape is also turbulent, particularly within Maria Karystianou's 'Hope for Democracy' party. The party is experiencing significant internal strife, evidenced by new resignations announced yesterday. Notably, these departures were communicated through the party's group communication platform, initially established as its official channel, which is now reportedly managed by dissenting or expelled members.

Among those who announced their departure from 'Hope for Democracy' were actress Katerina Moutsatsou, a member of the party's Culture Group; Maria Ioannidou, a member of the Political Council; and Takis Kotsorgios, a fisherman and active unionist representing the Agricultural Sector. Adding to the internal chaos, a removed member, Thanasis Avgerinos, responded sarcastically to criticisms from the party's Political Council, accusing them of an "attempted internal takeover" and "usurpation and division of a pure movement."

In other news, former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras attended the funeral service for Ioannis Varvitsiotis. He made a point to arrive early and depart promptly, seemingly to avoid potential encounters. Kostas Karamanlis, whose candidacy for ND leadership was championed by Varvitsiotis, is currently abroad, with his family conveying condolences to the deceased's children through Achilleas Karamanlis and his wife.
