Greece learns schedule for men's water polo World Cup Super Final

The Greek men's national water polo team is intensifying its preparations for the upcoming World Cup Super Final, scheduled to take place in Sydney, Australia, from July 22 to 26. Having secured their spot in the finals through a strong performance in the qualifiers held in Alexandroupoli last April, the team is now setting its sights on achieving another significant distinction, building on their silver medal from the previous year's competition.

Under the guidance of coach Thodoris Vlachos, the Greek squad will commence their tournament on July 24, facing Montenegro in the quarterfinal match. The team's progression hinges on this crucial opening game, as a victory would propel them into the semifinal.

Should Greece advance, their semifinal opponent on July 25 will be the winner of the match between Italy and Georgia. The objective in this semi-final clash is to secure a place in the grand final, which is slated for Sunday, July 26, at 11:00 AM. The team harbors ambitions of returning to the podium this year.

The tournament schedule includes initial quarterfinal matchups on July 24, with Spain playing Australia, Italy facing Georgia, Greece competing against Montenegro, and Hungary taking on Croatia. Subsequent matches will determine placements from fifth to eighth, followed by the semifinals, a bronze medal match, and the championship final.
