Greece Nears 10th Spot in UEFA Rankings After Poland's Losses

Greece has made a notable stride in its pursuit of the 10th position in the UEFA country rankings, significantly closing the gap with Poland thanks to recent European competition results.

With four Greek teams still competing in European tournaments, the nation's hopes of improving its standing are alive. Panathinaikos secured a crucial 2-1 away victory against Hradec Králové, contributing to the national coefficient and leaving the Czech Republic with one less representative. Meanwhile, OFI triumphed again over CSKA Sofia, guaranteeing their place in the Europa League's League Phase.

Poland faced considerable setbacks as both Raków and Górnik were eliminated from European competitions. This leaves Poland with only two teams remaining and narrows their points advantage over Greece to just 1.313. The current standings show Poland in 10th place with 45.125 points, followed by the Czech Republic (44.725), Greece (43.812), and Norway (38.612).

Greece now has a prime opportunity to continue reducing the deficit and contend seriously for the 10th spot, in a battle that is expected to remain closely contested until the end of the season.
