Greece to disburse over €88 million in benefits by early September

Greece is preparing to distribute significant financial aid, with over €88 million allocated for various benefits to more than 116,000 eligible recipients. The payments, scheduled between August 31 and September 4, 2026, are being processed by the country's main social security fund, e-EFKA, and the Public Employment Service, DYPA.

The e-EFKA payments cover a range of needs, including advances on pensions under law 4778/2021, allowances for individuals with disabilities, and benefits for maternity, funeral expenses, and sickness. Additionally, funds are allocated for the return of contributions for self-employed individuals and lump-sum payments following decision issuances.

Meanwhile, DYPA will facilitate substantial support through unemployment benefits and other related aid, totaling €46 million for 46,000 beneficiaries. Further assistance includes €2 million for subsidized maternity leave for 17,000 mothers and €19 million directed towards subsidized employment programs benefiting 18,000 individuals.

These disbursements are part of the government's ongoing efforts to provide financial relief and support to various segments of the population, addressing immediate needs and promoting employment opportunities.
