Greece women's volleyball team advances to Mediterranean Games semifinals with 3-1 win

The Greek women's national volleyball team has secured its place in the Mediterranean Games semifinals, defeating North Macedonia 3-1 in a comeback victory. This win marks a perfect 3-0 record for Greece in Group B, demonstrating a strong performance throughout the preliminary stage.

The match saw Greece initially trail, losing the first set 22-25 despite holding a significant lead earlier in the set. However, the team quickly regrouped, dominating the second set with a decisive 25-13 win. They continued their strong momentum into the third set, securing it with an overwhelming 25-7 scoreline, taking a 2-1 lead in sets.

With their semifinal berth confirmed, coach Giorgos Bakodimos made strategic substitutions. The team maintained control in the fourth set, ultimately winning it 25-17 to seal the 3-1 match victory. The sets concluded at 22-25, 25-13, 25-07, and 25-17.

Greece is now set to face undefeated Turkey on Thursday at 18:00. This upcoming match is a top-of-the-group clash, as both teams have advanced to the semifinals, and the result will determine the group's final standings.
