Greek Patriot missile battery downs drone threat over Saudi Arabia

In a swift and decisive engagement, a Greek Patriot missile battery stationed in Saudi Arabia successfully neutralized an aerial threat in the early hours of Thursday. The battery, part of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYSA), was activated to counter an enemy air raid aimed at the vital oil facilities in Yanbu.

The Greek air defense system fired three missiles, effectively destroying a swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Houthi rebels from Yemen. These hostile targets were moving menacingly in the broader area and were all successfully shot down, preventing any potential damage to the critical infrastructure.

This successful operation was carried out in full cooperation with the local air defense systems of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Greek mission is providing tangible support to bolster the air security of the region. The presence of Greek forces in the area is part of the international initiative 'Integrated Air Missile Defense Concept,' underscoring their commitment to regional stability and demonstrating the high readiness and deterrent power of the Greek military.
