Guaraní and Ameliano settle for a draw to close seventh round

Sportivo Ameliano and Guaraní traded goals and chances in a 1-1 draw at Santísima Trinidad that left both sides stranded in the middle of the 2026 Clausura table.

Ameliano opened the scoring after Raúl Cabral began the move from midfield. Édgar Páez carried the ball down the left and cut it back toward the edge of the six-yard box, where Cristhian Ocampos finished first time with his left foot.

The blue-and-white side, wearing black in tribute to recently deceased former club official Marcial León Areco, later came close to doubling its advantage. Jesús Abel Paredes struck a left-footed shot across goal that hit Miguel Martínez’s left post.

Guaraní pushed for an equalizer and saw a disputed incident go unpunished when Juan Manuel García reached the ball before Sánchez, who brought him down inside the area. The referee did not award a penalty, and VAR did not intervene. Guaraní eventually leveled early in the second half, when Matías López sent the ball into the upper-right corner after Amando Méndez’s low cross was only partially cleared.
