Guinness World Records confirms Saheed Osupa, Malaika, others’ Afrobeats orchestra record

Guinness World Records has officially recognized a Lagos concert as the largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats performance, featuring 85 musicians. The record-setting event was organized by Dapper Live & Artists.

The concert, held on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, was staged as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition. It was led by a conductor and included a lead singer, choir, dancers, and the 85 musicians performing in coordination.

King Saheed Osupa, KS1 Malaika, and a host of other Afrobeats artists, including T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, and Dwillsharmony, alongside Fuji stars, participated in the event. Organizers described the night as a fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji, and orchestral arrangements, aiming to rewrite the record books.

Dapper Live & Artists is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, also known as Dapper, who is also known for his connection to celebrity chef Hilda Baci, a three-time Guinness World Records holder.
