Hackers claim sale of 6 million Bangladeshi jobseekers' data

A hacker group calling itself "madarax" has put the personal information of six million Bangladeshi jobseekers up for sale on the dark web. The group claims the data was obtained from the popular recruitment platform Bdjobs.

The advertisement, posted Sunday on a dark web forum, offers the dataset for $1,000. It reportedly includes names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, educational qualifications, employment histories, and training records. The hackers stated the data would be sold to a maximum of five buyers and listed Paytm, Wise, PayU, and Binance as potential payment methods.

The company emphasized its long-standing commitment to user data protection, citing existing security measures and access controls that allow users to manage profile visibility. Bdjobs also noted that employer access to jobseeker information is restricted to recruitment purposes, and vowed to take legal action against any employer found selling such data to third parties.
