Kuala Lumpur – Singer and composer Hael Husaini has emerged as the leading nominee for the 2026 Melodi Terhangat Awards (AMT), securing five nominations across various categories. Husaini is set to compete in the Male Celebrity, Music Celebrity, CUCKOO Inspirational Icon, Stylish Celebrity, and Chemistry Celebrity categories. His nomination in the latter category is for his on-screen pairing with Dayang Nurfaizah, highlighting his versatility and popularity. This achievement places Husaini as the celebrity with the highest number of individual nominations for this year's AMT, making him a prominent contender for the awards ceremony in October. The awards, themed 'Power,' will feature 16 categories in total, including seven new additions this year. Other artists also garnered significant attention, with singer Aisha Retno and actor Syafiq Kyle each receiving four nominations. Retno is nominated in Female Celebrity, Music Celebrity, Viral Celebrity, and Hottest Song for her track 'Jodoh Lebaran.' Kyle is nominated in Male Celebrity, Couple Goals Celebrity (with Mimi Lana), CUCKOO Inspirational Icon, and Viral Celebrity. The introduction of seven new categories, such as Hottest Song, Drama Sangat Terhangat, and Celebrity Chemistry Terhangat, reflects the evolving landscape of entertainment and fan engagement.
