Hailstorms return to parts of Slovenia

Slovenia is currently experiencing a band of thunderstorms that is gradually moving towards the southeast of the country. Radar imagery shows the storm system, with reports of hail emerging from several locations.

Meteorologists had predicted the possibility of local showers and thunderstorms earlier in the day. The wind is expected to shift to a northerly direction, with a strong bora wind developing on the coast towards the evening. Maximum daily temperatures are forecast to range from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius, reaching up to 29 degrees Celsius on the coast, according to the Slovenian Environment Agency.

The stormy activity is expected to subside by evening, with the coast seeing the last of the storms. Skies are predicted to clear from the north overnight. The morning will be cool, with minimum temperatures between 6 and 12 degrees Celsius, and up to 18 degrees Celsius on the coast.

Looking ahead to Friday, the forecast indicates mostly clear skies, with some increased cloudiness expected in the east. A northerly wind may blow in some inland areas, while the bora wind on the coast is expected to subside during the day. Maximum temperatures will range from 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, and up to 28 degrees Celsius on the coast.

The outlook for Saturday suggests sunny weather with a developing southwest wind, leading to warmer temperatures. Sunday is expected to be moderately to mostly cloudy, with clearer conditions towards the east. Precipitation, including showers and thunderstorms, is possible in western and parts of central Slovenia.
