Hajduk Split terminates contract of Spanish midfielder Hugo Guillamón

Croatian football club Hajduk Split has terminated the contract of Spanish midfielder Hugo Guillamón, who is reportedly set to join Spanish second-division team Sporting Gijón. The 26-year-old player had one year remaining on his contract with the Split-based club, but Hajduk informed him in late May that he was free to seek new opportunities.

Hajduk announced the mutual termination of Guillamón's contract on Monday. Local newspaper La Voz de Asturias reported that the player is on his way to Gijón to sign a two-year agreement with Sporting, while Marca also confirmed the move.

Guillamón arrived at Hajduk a year ago from Valencia, recruited by then-technical director Ivan Rakitić. During his tenure with Hajduk, he played a total of 26 matches and provided one assist. The club expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Hajduk Split, the runner-up in the Croatian league, has thus parted ways with the Spanish midfielder after a single season.
