Hajj: Kano pilgrims board sets August 25 deadline for passports submission

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has issued a directive requiring all registered intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise to submit their valid international passports by August 25, 2026. This deadline is crucial for the timely registration and documentation processes necessary for the upcoming Hajj.

Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle, the Director-General of the board, emphasized through Public Relations Officer Sulaiman Dederi that adherence to this deadline is essential. The board aims to complete the enrollment and documentation of all pilgrims within the required timeframe, especially considering the anticipated closure of the Saudi Arabian Hajj registration server towards the end of August.

The DG has warned that any registered intending pilgrim who fails to submit his or her international passport on or before the stipulated deadline may not be allocated a Hajj seat.

The board warned that any registered pilgrim who fails to submit their passport by the stipulated date may forfeit their Hajj seat. Consequently, all intending pilgrims in Kano State who have not yet submitted their documents are urged to do so without delay.

The statement underscored the importance of treating this directive with utmost urgency and ensuring full compliance. The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board will not be held responsible for any consequences arising from non-compliance with the August 25 deadline.
