Halkalı-Arnavutköy Metro Line Set to Open in Istanbul

Istanbul's extensive metro network is expanding with the upcoming opening of the Halkalı-Arnavutköy metro line. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that the 21.75-kilometer section is complete and will be inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on June 19.

This new segment will serve several stations, including İbn Haldun University, Kayaşehir, Olimpiyatköy, Halkalı Stadium, and Halkalı Station. The opening marks a significant step in improving public transportation within the bustling metropolis.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu highlighted the integration capabilities of the new line. Upon full operation, the Halkalı-Arnavutköy line will connect with other metro systems at various stations, facilitating seamless travel across the city. Notably, the Halkalı Station will integrate with the Marmaray line, a crucial commuter rail line.

The completion of this phase is expected to drastically cut down travel times. Specifically, the journey between Halkalı and Istanbul Airport will be reduced to just 30 minutes, offering considerable convenience to commuters and travelers alike.
