Hamdallah prepares for new season with Al-Taawoun, eyes scoring record

Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah is gearing up for his ninth consecutive season in the Saudi League, joining Al-Taawoun as their new forward. Hamdallah expressed his ambition to compete for championships in the upcoming season, including the AFC Champions League 2.

Hamdallah is also nearing a significant individual milestone. He is just five goals away from equaling the all-time record for the Saudi Pro League's top scorer, currently held by Syrian striker Omar Al-Somah. Hamdallah has scored 156 goals in the league so far. He noted that preparations for the new season are progressing well during the team's training camp, emphasizing its importance for mental and physical readiness.

"Praise be to God, we have made great progress in our preparations, and God willing, we will be fully ready before the first match," he added. Hamdallah has previously won the Saudi Pro League title twice, with Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad, and played a short loan spell with Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup.
